What is the Home Theater setup good that also comes with an Ipod Dock?
I was looking to buy one when I thought Apple HiFi you had to spend a little more and get a whole home Entertainment System because I'll just end up spending a little more. I am looking for a configuration good quality, which also includes an iPod dock .... I saw one (Sony) at Costco that I liked but I figured I would get some opinions as I also want something visually appealing.
You will find that most A / V receivers and home theater systems to sell the iPod separate attachement. The reason this is that manufacturers have to pay Apple a royalty on the sale of any items that make using Apple / iPod technology. The right to be paid is based on the selling price of the item. So your options are to pay royalty on a receiver several hundered dollars with integrated iPod connectivity, or pay a lot rotalty a $ 25 retail, "sold separately" adapter that plugs into the receiver. If you are limited to the few items that is included with iPod connection the total package, you will lose a lot of really great options that have iPod adapters sold for just a little more. I would not recommend Sony, because while make great TVs and projectors, the recipients and speakers are very poor (although improving slightly). I would look at Yamaha and Onkyo - both have built in XM and iPod options.
